Peggy
Bob had two dogs during his childhood, both named Peggy. Each was a mixed breed dog.
He likes to tell about the "first Peggy" who went everywhere the boys did. She would follow them uptown to the movies and wait outside until the show was over. She could even commando crawl when they played Army.
The second Peggy was still around when I started dating Bob. Her years on earth were finally done and she joined the First Peggy in Pet Heaven.
Joe's Dog Sapphire
Brother Joe has always chosen the Cocker Spaniel as his dog. He has had several of them through the years. Sapphire was a little black Cocker Spaniel. In the picture, Cindy is holding Sapphire.
When Sapphire had her first litter of puppies, she got uremia. She died giving birth to the puppies. My mom tried to keep the puppies alive. She had to bottle feed them every few hours and keep them warm. However, they all died except one. Joe wanted to keep the surviving puppy, but Mom had gone through enough and said, "No." Joe decided if he couldn't keep her then I should have her. Bo Bo joined Bob, Cindy, Rob and me on 18th street.
