BoBo
BoBo could be a very loveable Cocker Spaniel. He would play with Robbie. He liked to chase the Frisbee. Whenever I would be sitting in my chair doing handwork, BoBo would be nestled right beside me.
BoBo had a behavior problem. He was very possessive-aggressive. He would guard his food dish, a toy, or a bone to the point that even I would be afraid of him. BoBo bit Cindy. When Trixie was a pup, I studied books and even watched a Video on how to train a dog and the different problems they can have. According to most of the books I read, possessive-aggressive behavior is hard to retrain. I have often wondered if I would have had the knowledge of dog training I gained working with Trixie, whether or not I might have been able to help him.
Kelly
Mom and Dad inherited Kelly from my great aunt Josie Strohecker. As a young pup, Kelly was teased by children in the neighborhood and was considered a mean dog. With love and kindness and age, his personality mellowed.
Kelly loved squeaker toys. Whenever he got a new squeaker toy, he wouldn't give up until he had the squeaker removed.
Bob and I built a new home on West Rose in Lincoln; Mom and Dad built one right next door. Kelly and BoBo moved with us. It was apparent Kelly was growing too old and tired; BoBo had not mellowed with age. In fact, the move seemed to make him worse. Kelly and BoBo headed for the beauty of Pet Heaven about the same time. When I think about BoBo, I imagine him a better dog enjoying Pet Heaven. Bob was the one who had to take first BoBo and a short time later Kelly to the Vet for the final good-bye.
Suzy and Edith are in the next kennel.
