Moochie's Puppies
Moochie had one litter of puppies. I wanted to keep all six. The two in the picture stayed around quite awhile. By the way, they are being posed on my dad's put put.
One day Moochie got very sick. It was believed she had gotten into some rat poison put out by the neighbors. With many tears, our family bid Moochie good-bye; gone but never forgotten.
Victory
I finally got my way! When I was 14, Mom and Dad bought me my Collie dog. The day they brought her home as a puppy was also a game day for Lincoln High Basketball. When the Links won the game, the Collie pup won her name--Victory.
Of course like most kids, I had visions of another Lassie! Little did I realize what it takes to train a dog to do anything let alone the great things Lassie can do. I've done better with Trixie.
My poor judgment almost cost me my Collie dog. I took her with me to go see my friend Mary Jo without using a leash. Poor little Victory got hit by a car. What a horrible, helpless feeling it was to just stand there and see my precious Victory headed into the street with a car coming and nothing I could do would stop her. Luckily Victory came out of the accident just fine.
When I left home, Mom and Dad did not want the responsibility of Victory and she couldn't come with me. She was taken to a farm where I am sure she enjoyed a long, wonderful life.
The next Kennel features Bob's dog Peggy and Joe's dog Saphire.
