Little Women
I still enjoy watching the movie Little Women. It is being shown periodically on one of the many TV channels. My favorite version is the 1949 release.
Information from Wikipedia
The movie Little Women has seen several cinematic adaptations beginning in 1918 and again in 1933, 1949, 1978, and 1994.
The cast of characters in the 1949 version is Elizabeth Taylor as Amy, June Allyson as Jo, Janet Leigh as Meg, Margaret O'Brien as Beth, Mary Astor as Marmee, and Peter Lawford as Laurie. June Allyson became one of my favorite actresses of all time.
The book by the same name is a novel by American author Louisa May Alcott and set in Concord, Massachusetts. It was originally published in two parts. The first part of the book published in 1868 was an immediate success and prompted the public to want to learn more about the March sisters. In 1869, the second part was written entitled Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy. Both parts were eventually published as a single volume in 1880. Alcott followed Little Women with two sequels revisiting the March sisters, Little Men in 1871 and Jo's Boys in 1886.
I have read and own the books Little Women and Little Men. I read but do not own a copy of Jo's Boys.
