Casey

We were living on C Street when we got our next cat. On a trip to visit my cousins in Crete, I talked mom and dad into bringing home one of their kittens. Casey was a Tomcat. I named him after a favorite radio show, "Casey Crime Photographer."

Casey was quite the tomcat and had many girlfriends to visit as he roamed the area. He also was a fighter and fiercely protected his conquests.

Our dog Moochie was part of the family the same time as Casey. They merely tolerated each other with Casey ruling the domain.

When we moved to the house on Orchard Street, Casey came with us. However, he would still be spotted clear across town visiting his ladies over on the C Street area. Casey was my "listener". The preteen, teen years are wrought with so many emotions. I would hold him and pour out my broken heart whenever the need arose.

I was married and not living at home when poor old Casey must have met his match. He came home one morning in pretty bad shape from a fight. He was old and it was his time to go and play in the green pastures of Pet Heaven.
